Dental Healthcare for Children

Many parents believe that it is acceptable for their children’s milk teeth or temporary teeth to deteriorate because they will ultimately fall out and they will take care of their children’s permanent teeth. This is an extremely risky and incorrect assumption. The milk teeth of a youngster serve as the foundation for their permanent teeth. If a child’s milk teeth are in bad shape, it impacts their gums and, as a result, their new teeth.

Dental health for kids is very important for a healthy and bright smile!
Parents should teach their children to commit to oral healthcare as it develops a strong oral care routine that will help them for the rest of their lives.

Bacteria in plaque that coats the teeth are the primary cause of tooth decay. Tooth decay can be caused by an excessive amount of sugar in one’s diet or sugar left on one’s teeth. It is critical for parents to keep track of how many sweets, candies, and sugary beverages their children ingest in order to protect their children’s teeth during their formative years.

Parents should also be aware of what the signs of tooth decay look like. Tooth decay may appear as the following:

Children should be brushing twice a day and flossing each day. Show your children how to properly brush all sides of their teeth, front, back, and chewing surfaces. Teach them how to floss too!

To prevent tooth decay, our masters dental team suggest using an ADA-approved toothpaste with fluoride. Fluoride helps to strengthen the tooth enamel and has been shown to reduce tooth decay by 18-40% among children and around 35% among adults.

Receiving regular dental check-ups and cleaning is a crucial part of preventing tooth decay in children. The sooner we’re able to assess the situation in your child’s mouth to identify existing problems and potential threats, the quicker we’ll be able to treat them and safeguard their smile.

The first dental visit is recommended by 12 months of age, or within 6 months of the first tooth coming in, then depending on your child’s age, routine dental check-ups should take place from once every 3 months to once a year. We only want what’s best for your child’s oral and overall health and well-being. We want your child to be informed and aware of the things that help them keep their smile always glowing.

It is also important that you contact us and book an appointment with any of our qualified dentists at master’s Dental and Aesthetic Clinic for regular check-ups, dental cleaning, or if you or your loved ones develop any kind of toothache or dental issues. We wish you and your family, a happy, healthy, and beautiful smile! 😀
